Dr.
Mark Golden, MD, FACS

Dr. Mark Golden received his BA from the University of Chicago
in 1977 and received the first-ever pre-doctoral Master's Degree
in Ophthalmology awarded by that institution. His doctora te
degree was awarded at Saint Louis University in 1984. He continued
his training in St. Louis with internship and residency. Click

In 1988 he joined Eye Surgeons
and Consultants, with offices in Chicago and Southern Wisconsin,
specializing in small incision cataract surgery and treatment
of diabetic retinopathy. In 1991 he became interested in refractive
surgery and took the first course on the then new ALK machine
followed by a fellowship in Houston. This technique was the
precursor of Lasik.
He is an FDA proctor for
the VISX laser, teaching and supervising new surgeons as they
learn to use of the laser. He has taught and proctored ophthalmologists
in the technique of Lasik, nationally and internationally. He
is a frequent lecturer at Ophthalmology and Optometry meeting
such as:

He is a frequent teacher
of local eye doctors, having given continuing education courses
for many years. Honors include board certification in Ophthalmology
and Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons and the American
Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been the medical and surgical
director of several laser centers.
Dr. Mark Golden has restricted
his practice to refractive surgery. He is certified for use
on the Visx, Baush and Lomb Technolas and Nidek Excimer lasers
for the correction of nearsightedness and farsightedness. He
is experienced in the placement of Intacs (Intracorneal ring)
for the correction of low amounts of nearsightedness. He has
performed more than eleven thousand refractive procedures. He
is frequently asked by eye doctors to perform their eye laser
procedures.
He is married, with a young
son. He enjoys cooking, travel, scuba diving and finding new
and exotic restaurants.

Prof.
Ellen Rudnick, AB, MBA
Ellen
currently serves as Executive Director and Clinical Professor
of the Michael P. Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the
University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Prior to
this appointment she spent twenty-five years in business management
and entrepreneurial activities, primarily in healthcare and
information services industries.
She served as Chairman
of Pacific Biometrics , a medical diagnostics company she
co founded(1993-1999); President of HCIA, and CEO of Healthcare
Knowledge Resources, both healthcare information service companies(1990-1992);
and
Corporate Vice PResident of Baxter Healthcare and President
and Founder of Baxter Management Services Division(1975-1990).
Ellen also serves as
Founder and Chairman of CEO Advisors, a consulting firm established
in 1992. SInce 1999, she has served as a Venture Partner with
in roads Capital Partners.
In 1987 Business Week
named her one of the top 50 women in U.S. business. Ellen
received an MBA from the University of Chicago and a B.A.
from Vassar College. She serves on the boards of Liberty Mutual
INsurance, Oxford Health Plans, Inc., Health Management Systems(HMSY).
She has previously served on the boards of Evanston Northwestern
Healthcare and NephRx. SHe has won numerous community honors
and is a member of the Chicago Network, the Health Alliance,
the Economic Club of Chicago, and a spast member of YPO. She
is married and a mother of three children.

Dr.
Margaret McNelis, O.D.

Dr. Margaret McNelis
is a graduate of Indiana University School of Optometry in
1990. She holds an undergraduate degree from University of
Illinois in Champaign in 1985. Dr. McNelis has medically-based
Optometric training, beginning with her residency at North
Chicago Veteran's Hospital. She was on staff in a multidisciplinary
medical center as a primary eye and vision consultant, concentrating
in pediatrics, contact lenses, ocular injuries and infection
treatment.
In 1993, she joined Eye
Surgeons and Consultants. She has been active in the comanagement
of various refractive procedures including RK, ALK, LASIK,
Intacs and cataract surgery. She is skilled in complex contact
lens fitting of diseased and irregular corneas. She has evaluated
and cared for more than 8,000 laser refractive patients
She enjoys teaching and
research, and is a contributing author to a reference textbook,
as well as a practice guide, and has given presentations at
local and national meetings. She has been a member of the
American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric
Association since becoming an optometrist.
She is married and has
two young daughters. She enjoys camping and the great outdoors,
especially since having LASIK. Her hobbies include gardening,
cooking and broomball.
